The Texans have agreed to terms on a contract with retired quarterback Jake Delhomme, according to a league source. Houston worked out both Delhomme and veteran Jeff Garcia on Tuesday following the season-ending injury to Matt Leinart. Garcia worked out for the team following starter Matt Schaub's season-ending foot injury last week, but Houston decided to sign Kellen Clemens instead.

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with QB Josh McCown on a one-year contract. McCown has started 31 of 47 games played in eight NFL seasons with the Cardinals, Lions, Raiders and Panthers after entering the league as a third round selection (81st overall) by Arizona in the 2002 Draft. The quarterback out of Sam Houston State has completed 610 of 1,058 (57.7 percent) passing attempts during his NFL career for 6,584 yards, 35 touchdowns and 40 interceptions for a 71.3 passer rating.

The Bears and veteran offensive lineman Roberto Garza agreed to a two-year contract extension, the team announced. The deal is worth $6.55 million with $2.6 million guaranteed, according to a league source. Garza was in the final year of a six-year deal he signed in January 2006.
